Palestine
Israel has refused to accept the international communities request to return to the pre 1967 borders in order to initiate a two state solution in Palestine, as proposed by the US Administration. War is inevitable. How can one have peace under illegal occupation, settlements and a refusal for the Palestinian people to return to their homeland? Doesn't make any common sense to me.

Politics
Political systems have evolved through time based on a few rigid high level systems of Capitalism and Communism. The former, while encouraging free enterprise bases its premise on a democratic environment. The latter relies more on a dogmatic and rigid controlled system where private enterprise has very little to play and the State manages the nation based on a "equality" model.
While Capitalism, based on a free democracy, utilizes the system of equal franchise to elect the ruling elite it can also have hiccups in that not all of the people in the land are capable enough to make that vote a valid one based on positive precepts. On the other hand the Communist model imposes too much rigidity and curbs basic freedoms and human rights. In both cases, above, the seeping of corruption and injustice has always been their failure to deliver, across the planet.
My personal vision is a Capitalist Democracy with only qualified people allowed to choose the leadership. Of course the question pops up as to who is qualified and who decides this basis. It has t be modeled on common sense and reality with some ground rules in place for the entitlements. Party systems, with one ruling and the other opposing can never succeed as long as the intent of both s to outdo each other rather than develop he nation and its people in a more collective manner.
I would prefer a more global concept of nations coming together to support each other rather than building walls between them. Removal of restrictions, boundaries, and more openness is the key to success. Secular Governments is a must. Religion, culture and other individual social norms must be confined to the individual alone and not to groups and parties for them to choose for themselves by mutual consent.
The ultimate goal should be to create a more Global Village concept with zero boundaries and restrictions of goods, people, and life in general.

When Marx openly stated that Religion is the Opium of the Masses he was not too far away from the reality on the ground. This, is not because the tenets of religion are evil or bad but mainly because the adherents and faithful choose to misinterpret these teachings that are extrapolated from humanly interfered scripture.
Religion, in my view must rest mainly on one single pillar at the highest level. This, is the humility, honor, respect, and love for the fellow human being and all things on the planet. Failing this tenet, all religions are doomed to extinction, sooner or later.
Rituals, within religions, are mostly man made and have very little added value for money except a waste of time, energy, effort and money.
